Product Review: MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme "Deep Dark Brunette"

I'm obsessed with doing my brows- and I know I'm not the only one in the beauty community when it comes to that. In the last few years, bold brows increasingly became a thing again- and since I'm kind of a yeti who could easily grow a monobrow if I wanted to- I couldn't be happier about this development!

I've mentioned the MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme (wow, that's a mouthful) on my blog before, but I feel like it deserves a seperate review since I love it so much and it hasn't been out for that long now (if you ignore the fact that it's a repromote that now has been made permanent, anyways). There's three shades available- Dirty Blonde, Redhead and my shade which is Deep Dark Brunette.

About the shades: A friend of mine who is a (dyed) redhead chose Dirty Blonde over Redhead because it's much cooler toned and Redhead is very, very warm-toned and kind of looks fake if you're not a true redhead. Dirty Blonde is more ashy and would probably work on a lot of complexions as long as you don't want a really dark and defined brow. For me, Deep Dark Brunette works really well- i'd say it's neutral to warm-toned and works nicely for those with darker hair and deeper complexions (I'm not very tan, but my hair is dyed a very dark shade of brown so it matches very nicely).

Application is pretty simple- you just a need an angled brush and you're good to go. I use a very cheap drugstore one by essence which costs about € 1,50- it works really well for brows because it's very small and fine which allows for a precise application. It's pretty much like using a gel liner for your eyebrows but much simpler than drawing winged liner on your eyelids. Still, the product is of course multi-purpose because you can  use it just like a regular gel eyeliner as well (at least the darkest colour, it's a really nice soft brown shade on the eyes which looks very neutral and toned down when worn as an eyeliner- already tested it!).

The best thing about the fluidline for brows is defnitely the staying power: once it's applied, it does not budge. I've been testing it for two weeks now or so, and after spending an hour in the pouring rain at a festival with only the tiniest bit of smudging (even though all my other makeup practically dissolved) I know that this stuff is staying put no matter what.

The MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme retails for € 20
