The Weekend Makeup Bag

On a lot of weekends in the summer, I find myself travelling back and forth from Vienna to my hometown. I always spend 2-3 days there then, and I never know what to bring (besides my laptop) and then tend to overpack makeup and totally forget about clothes- so smart, I know.

Each weak, I try to downsize and really only bring what's necessary, and if we ignore the lip products that are in a smaller bag in my handbag, I can promise that I really only do use the 11 products pictured above- sometimes not even all of them. Yay me!

So what's in the bag?

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream / MaxFactor Face Finity All Day Flawless 3-1 Foundation / Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

I like to take a light base for days where I'm not going anywhere special and just hanging around, so I'm taking the Garnier BB Cream with me- I actually prefer the matte version of this since it gives more coverage in my opinion, but mine is empty and since my skin has been pretty dry recently, I thought I'd use the original for a change. For when I'm actually going out in the evening or want to look more put together, I'm taking a foundation, and the MaxFactor I like because it gives a decent amount of coverage and has nice staying power. For concealer, I'm really only using the Maybelline Fit Me concealer as of lately- it's an allrounder that works great for covering both dark circles and blemishes. Lastly, I brought the essence translucent fixing powder, which I have also mentioned in my last post.

NARS Laguna Bronzer / KIKO blush (LE)

For my cheeks, I like to keep it simple, so I just bring a bronzer and a blush. For bronzer, I usually rely on the NARS Laguna bronzer since it's just so easy to apply and always looks nice (even on it's own). Other than that, I always take some blush with me, this weekend it's a KIKO blush from last year's summer limited edition, which actually has three colours inside that can be either swirled together or applied seperately. KIKO's limitied edition packaging is always really gorgeous, and their products are highly pigmented, so they're a joy to use.

KIKO eyeshadow palette (LE) / essence liquid ink eyeliner / Catrice Glamour Doll mascara / MAC fluidline gelcreme

I always get really lazy with eyeshadow on weekend, so I just pack some neutral palette just in case. Pictured we have another KIKO product from the same LE as the blush was (sorry!), but it's really your basic neutral palette with a lot of mattes inside, which I love. Should I feel the need to do eyeliner, I use the essence liquid ink eyeliner- which is another bargain product that's really affordable and works great. Same goes for the Catrice Glamour Doll mascara, it's a really nice basic mascara with a smooth formula and also pretty cheap, yay! For brows, I'm always taking the MAC fluidline gelcreme with me, and at this point I really have mentioned it way too often anyways so I'll leave it at that.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet liquid lipstick in Hot Pepper / Whatever MAC lipsticks are rolling around in my handbag

This is where the pictures are cheating a little bit. Obviously I couldn't just only bring one lip product, but this is the one I consciously put into my makeup bag- the red shade of the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet liquid lipsticks, which ticks all the boxes: red, matte, long-latsting. Other than that, I'm pretty sure I have two or three MAC lipsticks rolling around in my handbag- normally whatever I wore the past few days. I always bring way too many lip products anyways, since I never even wear much lipstick on the weekends- only if I go out in the evening.

But of course I need to bring more lipsticks than the weekend has days ...
