The Face: #06 - Autumn Inspired

I've reviewed quite a few new products I got this week, starting of with the new Catrice Nude Illusion Makeup on Monday. Back then, I promised to post pictures of me wearing said foundation soon- and I thought why not incorporate it into the traditional "face of the day" post? So here we are!

Yes, I really need to touch up my roots, I know.

For my base, as already mentioned, I used the new Catrice Nude Illusion Makeup, paired with the Maybelline Fit Me concealer and another new addition to Catrice's range, the Colour Correcting Mattifying powder. The Nude Illusion makeup gives a really natural finish and blends in nicely into the skin with either the fingers or a buffing brush and is relatively matte on its own, but I still like to give a light dusting of powder on top.

I really felt like doing a metallic smokey eye today- obviously the most appropriate look for staying at home, doing chores and working on your thesis. I've been wanting to break out the Sleek Bad Girl palette for so long now- it has some gorgeous dark metallic shades, but somehow I always tend to forget that I have this. My only real gripe about it is that it doesn't have a neutral matte blending colour.

I'm wearing a new mascara as well- the KIKO Ultra Tech Curve. I needed a new mascara and when I was in the store the other day, this one had the "bestseller" tag on it- so I thought why not try it? After a few applications, I really like it- it lengthens and seperates the lashes very nicely.

As always, I've used my MAC Fluidline Gelcreme in Deep Dark Brunette to fill in my brows- nothing new on the eyebrow front. I'm still enjoying it loads!

On my cheeks I'm wearing the Sleek Contour Kit in Light, both the bronzer and the highlighter. I skipped blush, as I felt like there was enough going on my face already.

For lipstick, I chose MAC Just A Bite, which was a limited edition colour of last year and is a Satin finish. If you're interested in this kind of colour, I can suggest Dubonnet or Dark Side by MAC, which are both permanent.

I've marked the eyeshadows I used specifically with a little [x] as you can see; as a base for the eyeshadow I used a cream eyeshadow by Catrice which they unfortunately don't carry in their line anymore! Anyways, the Sleek eyeshadows are insanely pigmented on their own, so a base isn't that vital for this look.

And that's it for today! Have a nice Saturday and enjoy your weekend!
