Last year, Jim Jarmusch's most recent movie Only Lovers Left Alive starring Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston was released- and if these two names aren't incentive enough for you to watch a movie about two chilled out vampires that sleep all day and don't even want to get up when it's night because they're so lazy I guess you can't be helped.
I won't recite the actual plot of the movie right now- I just want to show you one of the most poignant, beautiful and perfect scenes from the movie that utilises music so brilliantly that it will forever be stuck in my head:
The song used in this scene is called "Trapped by a Thing Called Love", performed by Denise LaSalle and was released back in 1972- prepare for it to be stuck in your head for at least the remaining day!
Also, how cool is Tilda Swinton in this role? I think the life advice her character Eve gives at the beginning of this scene is also pretty rad ...
"How can you have lived for so long and still not get it? This self-obsession, it's a waste of living. It could be spent on surviving things, appreciating nature, nurturing, kindness, friendship ... and dancing!"
