Review: New Catrice Products!

Two days ago I told you about the Catrice giveaway I won (still in shock that I've actually won something, I swear this never happened before), so now I'd like to review the stuff I've been sent in more detail for you!

Swatches of all the products:

Be prepared for a plethora of mini reviews of everything that's been sent to me, minus one mascara which I didn't have a chance to try out yet.

ASOLUTE EYE COLOUR MONO 830 GREAT GOLDSBY & 840 BARBIE MEETS METALLICA

I'll be honest, I haven't used mono eyeshadows in literally ages- palettes are just much more convenient in my opinion. Anyways, I was quite pleased about the two shades I received- I like golden and lilac shades, so I was eager to try these eyeshadows out. As you can see in the swatch picture above, they're both nicely pigmented, the golden shade- Great Goldsby- being the more strongly pigmented shadow of the two. Barbie Meets Metallica is not as strongly pigmented, but I can still imagine it as a nice highlighting colour at the center of the lid layered over another lilac/violet/plum eyeshadow- it is really shimmery so it would work well for that.
Overall, both eyeshadows have pretty decent staying power- I didn't use a primer other than my foundation and some powder and they still stayed on for at least 8 hours before I removed my makeup, so that's pretty impressive!

LIQUID METAL GEL EYE PENCIL 060 LILAC IS BACK IN NEARLY BLACK & 030 YOU'RE SO GOLD FASHIONED

I'm not even much of an eyeliner girl (I wear black liquid liner if I want to wear eyeliner at all, and that's about it), but I'm seriously impressed with these gel eye pencils! The staying power on these is insanely good- I had no expectations whatsoever for the purple eyeliner to stay intact over the course of the day, especially the winged out part because that usually smudges whenever I use eyeliners like this, but damn ... this stuff lasted for the whole day without smudging.
The packaging and design of these eyeliners is also very nice, as you don't have to sharpen them because it's one of these pens that have the twisty bit at the bottom- perfect for lazy people like me who hate putting in the extra effort of sharpening their eyeliners.
So yes, I'm very impressed with this formula and I definitely want to look at the other shades of eyeliners Catrice have in stock right now!

ULTIMATE STAY LIPSTICK 050 MAUVE YOUR LIPS

Lipstick is probably the makeup product category I get most excited about, so I was happy to try out a new one! The shade Mauve Your Lips reminds me a lot of MAC favourites of mine, Plumful and Craving, just with a more matte texture- which I love, because I'm all about matte lips. It lasts a decent few hours and feels nice on the lips, so I really have nothing to complain about. I also like the packaging a lot, it's black and very sleek and looks more expensive than it actually is, which I think is awesome.
Overall, this lipstick will probably stay in my everyday makeup bag I keep in my handbag, since the shade is a typical "me" shade that I can get a lot of wear out of on a daily basis and since my Plumful lipstick is nearly gone, this will be a nice replacement for the time being.

ULTIMATE NAIL LACQUER 72 AUBER-GENIOUS & 71 CADILILAC

Although I enjoy quite a lot of products from Catrice's range, their nail polish is usually not something that I get very excited about. But it seems like there has been a change in formula since I tried my last polish from their range, because these are actually really nice. I've applied two coats of both colours (it actually says to apply two coats on the CadiLILAC shade on the bottle) without base or top coat three days ago, and so far there hasn't been any chipping, wohoo!
Other than that, Auber-Genious is a really dark and- as the name suggest- aubergine colour which is brilliant for Autumn/Winter, while CadiLILAC is a kind of duochrome pastelly lilac which I quite like as an accent nail.

ILLUMINATING BLUSH 010 I AM NUTS ABOUT YOU

Finally, Catrice have also added a few Illuminating Blushes to their range, and I've been sent the shade "I Am Nuts About You", which is a pretty darkish-rosy shade that contains some shimmer as well. It is very pigmented, so a little goes along way with this product!
I absolutely love the quilted design of the blush, I think prints like this just add a lot to the presentation of a product and immediately spark up my interest as well- I have actually looked at these blushes in the store before but couldn't make up my mind if I really needed one or not, so I was absolutely thrilled when I won one of them!

Overall, I am very pleased with all the products I won at this giveaway, which of course makes this whole experience even better!
If I had to pick my top products of all of the ones mentioned above, it would definitely be the Liquid Metal Gel Eye Pencils and the Illuminating Blush- I can absolutely recommend those!

Thanks again to Catrice for letting me win something for the first time ever, I'm still very excited! ;)
