Festive Nails: Essence "Good Girl Bad Girl" Effect Top Coat

Yes, I'm aware of my super-dry cuticles. Please ignore.
I'm on a quest of getting into the festive spirit in my first retail-free Christmas in five years, and I think I'm not doing too bad of a job! Next to watching Christmas movies, listening to festive music and going to Christmas markets, I've also tackled festive nails now!

I have a few red and gold glitter polishes at home from last season, but when I went to the drugstore yesterday, I saw essence's new "good girl, bad girl" LE that also featured two different effect top coats. I picked up the shade "02 once i was an angel" which has a clear base with black and silver specks in it that look like tiny pieces of tinsel, which I really like because it's just different to the regular glitter polishes around.

There's a lot of these "tinsel" bits in the actual polish, so you could make this look really opaque if you felt like it. I only brushed on 1- 2 layers because I wanted the red to still show through - the shade I'm wearing is OPI Monsooner or Later. It dries rather quickly - which is the point of a top coat I guess, even if it does contain specks of glitter - but I still recommend going over top of it with an actual clear top coat to seal it all in!

I'm always a bit on the fence when it comes to glitter polishes, because even though I really like the effect it gives especially around this time of the year, they're just horrible to remove! I'm quite curious how many days this whole look will last before it starts to chip, but normally I feel glitter top coats at least last for a longer time compared to regular polish - probably because they are such a pain to remove.

Do you like glitter polishes for the festive season? :)
