Flawless Albums: #03 - "Foreverly" by Billie Joe & Norah

In celebration about the fact that Green Day are going to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility (bless my fangirl heart, I'm so freaking excited for them!), here's a music recommendation featuring one of Billie Joe Armstrong's many side projects: "Foreverly" by Billie Joe & Norah. Norah as in Norah Jones, of course - seems like everyone in the music industry knows each other!

I chose Foreverly for this installment of my Flawless Albums series because once again, it fits the season and my mood these days! It's basically a cover album of songs by the Everly Brothers (the original album was called Songs Our Daddy Taught Us) recorded by Billie Joe and Norah - nothing that I would have expected Mr. Armstrong to do when it was released last year, and yet it totally makes sense and I love it just like everything he puts out.

Genre-wise, I guess it has a little bit of country, folk and 'oldies'- sound all rolled into one album - in my opinion, it's all very slow and harmonious and very easy to listen to, it's perfect music for relaxing.

Favourite tracks:

Roving Gambler | Long Time Gone
Lightning Express | Oh So Many Years
I'm Here To Get My Baby Out Of Jail
