Makeup Matches: Brushes and Products

Sometimes we just need to find the right combination of brush and makeup product to really see how great they work together. I love the KIKO Velvet Touch Cream Stick Blush in Geranium for example, but I wasn't really happy with my way of application until a few days ago; my go-to brow product, the MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme is probably the favourite part of makeup routine - especially now that I found the right brush to use it with!

Ebelin Stippling Brush & KIKO Velvet Touch Cream Stick Blush - Ebelin is a brand that's offered in DM, which is something like the German/Austrian drugstore equivalent to UK stores like Superdrug or Boots. They have developed their line of brushes quite a bit over the last two years or so, and some of them are really affordable gems! Their stippling brush is of great quality, and I actually love to use it with most of my very pigmented blushes. Until a few days ago, I used to apply the KIKO cream blush to my face and then blend with my fingers, which never really satisfied me. I always thought the formula wasn't blendable with a brush because it needed the warmth of my fingertips, but I was wrong - together with the Ebelin stippling brush, it blends perfectly into the skin and actually lasts longer than when I apply it with my fingers! So now that it's much more fuss-free, I'll definitely get more use out of this cream blush - yay!

Real Techniques Angled Brush & MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme -  I think by now, everyone and their mother owns at least one Real Techniques brush or at least a dupe of one. Personally, I own the starter set for the eyes and the core collection featuring a few face brushes. The angled brush from the starter set for eyes has gotten very regular use over the past couple of months because it's my favourite to apply my MAC Fluidline for brows with. I previously have used it with a much smaller, more dainty angled brush, but I actually love that the Real Techniques version is a bit bigger than a lot of angled brushes - it gets the job done quicker! One would think that doing your brows with this gel product takes longer than using a brow pencil, but I actually find now that I found the right combination of brush and product, my brow routine is the fastest it's ever been. I love a strong brow look, and I think/hope that I can get away with it too, so the combination of these two are a makeup match made in heaven for me!

Do you have personal brush and makeup product combinations that make your routine so much easier? :) Tell me in the comments!
