The Weekend Makeup Bag: #01

Every two or three weeks, I spend the weekend at my parent's house which is about 1 1/2 hours away from Vienna in a smaller town on the countryside. Normally I don't do much there besides visiting my grandparents, eat a lot and maybe go out for a few drinks to the pub, but that's about it. This weekend however I'm going to a ball (yes, we still have those in Europe) organised by the Red Cross, and I'm really excited for that. I never really get the chance to dress up and really doll myself up for a special occassion, so I'm really looking forward to Saturday evening.

I just packed my makeup for the trip home, and I thought I'd show you what I'm going to bring. My friend Pezi who is also coming asked me to do her makeup (or at least part of it) as well, so I thought I'd bring a little more than my usual picks just in case we need them. So here's what's in my weekend makeup bag:

Eyes & Brows

Urban Decay Vice 3 - Normally I'd never bring a palette this big, but since I'm not only going to do my eyeshadow but Pezi's as well, I thought this was really practical because it has enough mattes, neutrals, brights and shimmers to have a nice selection of colours!
KIKO Skinny Fit Kajal in Intonation Shell - Nude eyeliners are so practical, so I always bring one when I'm going away. Perfect for making tired eyes look more awake or to brighten an eyeshadow look altogether.
KIKO Precision Eyeliner - I don't know how exactly I'll do my eyeshadow on Saturday, but I know I will want to wear a cat eye, so of course I need a decent liquid liner to assist me!
KIKO Ultra Tech Curve Mascara - I'm always prone to forgetting mascara in my flat and then I have to borrow my mum's (I know, there's people who think that sharing mascara's is gross and unhygienic, but come on, she's my mother); but today, I'm prepared!
MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme in Deep Dark Brunette - My favourite long-lasting brow product for many months now! Once applied, this doesn't budge, so it's perfect for nights out.

Face

Catrice Nude Illusion Make Up - My favourite foundation at the moment. This gives light to medium coverage with a beautiful finish; no mask-like complexion at all! Shade 02 Rose Vanilla is also a great shade match for me, so I'm very happy with this.
KIKO Natural Concealer in 01 - This is a very light, almost rosy-toned concealer that's perfect for undereye circles, so it had to come.
Catrice Camouflage Cream - My heavy-duty concealer of choice. My skin is okay-ish at the moment, but I just know that come Saturday, there will be redness and bumps where I don't want them to be ...
Catrice Colour Correcting Mattifying Powder in 010 Delicate Blossom - I'm not really fussy about setting powders, and this is the one I always carry around with me, so it also made the cut.

Cheeks

NARS Douceur Blush - I love this blush because it's so natural and can even be used for a very delicate contour; since I'm not sure how exactly I want to do my makeup on Saturday, I thought this was a very safe bet because it's a blush that always looks pretty and blends in with all kinds of looks.
Essence Highlighter in 01 Rose it Up! - This is such a nice, rosy highlighter that's not as in your face as the Sleek Contour Kit Highlighter, so I brought this to have a different option.
Catrice Illuminating Blush in 010 I Am Nuts About You - A shimmery, peachy blush ... we all know you can never go wrong with one of those, right?
Sleek Contour Kit in Light - A matte contour shade and a highlighter all in one sleek compact; this is one of my favourite Sleek products and I use both shades regularly. Perfect bargain product when it comes to contouring!

Lips

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Amazing Grace - I always bring whatever lipstick I'm wearing on Friday before I leave Vienna, obviously. This is the one I'm wearing today; I always like to wear this on the weekends because my grandparents like to see me in more natural colours, haha.
MAC Matte Lipstick in Diva - I'm wearing a red dress on Saturday, and I want to wear a darker shade of red on my lips; Diva is the perfect choice for that, since it's one of the most long-lasting lipsticks I own and one of my favourites when it comes to a dark, vampy lip.
KIKO Automatic Precision Lipliner in 515 - The lipliner I brought to accompany Diva. At first, I didn't even like this that much, but it has grown on me because it's super-practical because of the twist-up mechanism and the rubbery smudging tool at the end!

  3. Ah I want the Vice palette more and more every time you mention it, those rusty red/brown shades look amazing! You have a great selection of Kiko products here, I am definitely making a note of ones you mention for the next time I visit a store :). I am tempted by their cream eyeshadow sticks at the moment as well! I hope you had a lovely time at the Ball, it is a great excuse to wear a more glamorous makeup look :).

Their shops are so cool as well, they have such a huge range of producs that there's always something new to see/swatch! I have swatched the eyeshadow sticks before and they look veeeery nice, so you definitely should see if you like them! :) xx
