MAC Heroine Lipliner & MAC Flat Out Fabulous Lipstick

MAC Heroine Lipliner and Flat Out Fabulous Lipstick Lip Swatches

This past week, the weather totally sucked. It's the end of May, and all we get in Austria right now is a lot of clouds, grey skies and rain. Meh. (Which is super great for my allergies though, I feel great! Still ...)
Anyways, to counteract the dull weather, I've been very into wearing the brightest lipsticks I can find in my collection. And since I have quite a few of the MAC Retromatte lipsticks but feel like I'm not using them enough, I made it my mission to incorporate them more into my daily makeup!

The Fake Leather Backpack

When I told my friends that I was going to visit Barcelona, my friend Eva told me about Misako, a shop that sells amazing bags for a very reasonable price. My mum and I are both suckers for a pretty handbag, so obviously when we passed a Misako store in the gothic quarter of Barcelona, we had to step inside! I've been looking for a nice, (fake) leather backpack for a while now, and then I saw this beauty ...

Sephora Cream Lip Stains in 01 Always Red & 03 Strawberry Kissed

Review Sephora Cream Lip Stains in 01 Always Red & 03 Strawberry Kissed

I'm finally back with a regular beauty review! Yay! Let's get to business ...
While I was in Barcelona, I obviously had to visit a Sephora during my stay. Before going, I actually thought I'd probably spend a shitload of money on NARS and all the other pretty things, but then I kind of didn't. I always get pretty overwhelmed when shops are too big and there's too many displays to look at, so I tend to stick to the things I know/ have seen before. The Sephora Cream Lip Stains have been making the rounds on both YouTube and blogs, and as they are super-matte, opaque and bright lip colours, I obviously had to try them.

Barcelona in Pictures - Part 2

So here's part 2 of my Barcelona in Pictures posts - see the first one here. The pictures were all taken chronologically by the way, since I wanted to recreate our trip as authentically as possible, if that makes sense.

Here you see the rest of what we were up to last Wednesday: we visited the Sagrada Familia, strolled through the Gothic quarter again towards the evening and set down in front of La Catedral and enjoyed some ice cream and live music. It was the most beautiful end for the day, since the guy playing picked out a lot of perfectly sentimental songs that I really enjoy, and I fangirled very hard when he started playing David Bowie's Space Oddity. Perfection!

I didn't take any pictures on my camera on Thursday, because we spent the first half of the day relaxing at the beach. I actually went swimming into the sea, but it was still pretty cold unfortunately ... didn't stop me from being stupid and not reapplying my SPF when I napped a bit at the beach. Hey there, sunburn! Don't do that, kids.

Friday was our last day, and our main mission was visiting the Tibidabo, which is a mountain overlooking Barcelona, hence giving you a wonderful view of the whole city. Little did we know that on top of the mountain, there is actually a whole amusement park with carousels and a ferris wheel! Apart from that, there's obviously also a church - it's called Sagrat Cor, googled it - which was also pretty impressive. I'm not a religious person, but I can definitely appreciate beautiful architecture. I liked how it wasn't full of gold and marble on the inside, but pretty simple and clean-looking, with the most beautiful mosaic window above the organ.

We spent the better part of the day on top of mount Tibidabo, and after that we unfortunately only had a bit of time left, so we explored a bit more of Barri Góthico again. There was so much more we wanted to see, but 4 days just weren't quite enough unfortunately!

I love how Barcelona is a fairly modern city (compared to other Spanish cities, anyways) that combines an urban atmosphere with beaches and cocktail bars. All the people we encountered were absolutely lovely, the food was great, and there was a lot to see. Definitely a place I see myself visiting again sometime in the future!

Barcelona in Pictures - Part 1

My trip to Barcelona was just wonderful - beautiful weather, sunshine, and a new city to explore. Even though we had 4-ish days there, I actually wish we could have stayed longer. It feels like there were so many more sights we could have visited, but oh well ... those that we saw, we loved!

The pictures from above are from last Tuesday and Wednesday. We arrived on Tuesday, which was the only day where it was cloudy and not too warm. While we were waiting for our room to be ready, mum and I strolled around at the beach (it was only 200 metres away from our hotel!) and had some food. Around the Port Olympic, there are a lot of places to eat or enjoy a cocktail, so we actually went back there on Wednesday night to have a few drinks.

During the day on Wednesday, we did the typical tourist thing: we walked through Barri Gótic (the Gothic quarter, centre of the old city of Barcelona, which I can only recommend - what a beautiful place!), visited the Sagrada Familia and La Rambla (a very popular street in central Barcelona), including the market called La Bouqeria. The market is crammed with people, very colourful and you can buy just about any food you can think of - it's definitely a place you shouldn't miss.

I was also able to locate a Sephora, but I didn't go as wild in there as I originally planned. I only bought three things, two of the items being makeup. I'm sure about about it soon, so you'll see what I got!

Since I didn't want this post to become to crowded, I seperated the flood of pictures and made two seperate ones - part 2 should be up in a couple of days!

Update & Barcelona

Over the past few weeks, my posting schedule has been very sporadic. That annoys me, and I wish I could be more consistent, but I had a lot of other things on my mind lately. So I thought I'll put up another little life update post just so you all know I'm not dead - just busy. :)

May the 4th be with you! The fact that it's Star Wars day and I'm only posting my April favourites should tell you something about how rubbish my posting schedule is at the moment ... But I have an update post coming your way on Wednesday that'll explain why I'm such a bad, bad blogger right now! But for now, let's get to my beauty favourites of the past month ...

Review: MAC Brave Lipstick

Review: MAC Brave Lipstick

Ladies and gentlemen, I have found the one. I finally found the perfect nude lipstick that doesn't make look like a corpse and yet goes with everything I wear. So it is my absolute pleasure to present to you ... MAC Brave. I've had this for about two weeks and I already know that it's easily going to be one of my most worn lipsticks, and here's why.
