Before anyone judges –
Could you have said "no" to a plum lipstick in this funky
purple packaging? I didn't think so. In my mind, I bought this
lipstick before I even swatched it (bad beauty blogger, I know) –
this just screamed my name. Good thing the swatches didn't disappoint
me either! MAC Evening Rendezvous lipstick is part of the Magic of
the Night limited edition. It's a purple-plum and matte and simply
gorgeous!
There's not much to say
about the MAC matte formula anymore, is there? It's a great texture
that stays on for a good couple of hours without drying out the lips
– win win! What I was more interested in is how this shade compares
to the other purples in my collection. The first lipstick that popped
into my mind is Heroine, a straight-up purple and one of my
favourites, even though I don't wear it nearly as often as I should!
As you can see in the
pictures, Evening Rendezvous is a lot warmer-toned than Heroine.
While Heroine definitely has a blue undertone, this one is much more
on the pink side. To many, this undertone is what will make it more
wearable, and it's true – wearing a purple like Heroine requests a
bit more confidence.
If you're a lover of
plums and purples, this is definitely a lipstick to look into. For
me, it ticks all boxes: Great shade, matte and beautiful packaging! I
usually like to combine purple lipsticks with a cat eye and a little
bronzer and higlighter – little or no blush, I want the focus on
the lips.
